Ilayaraja is the world renowned legend and icon of Indian music, composer, orchestrator, instrumentalist, lyricist and singer, popular for his works in Indian Cinema since 1976.

He is ranked No.9 among the top 25 composers in the world. He is popularly known as ‘Maestro Ilayaraja’. In 2012, he was presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the highest Indian recognition given to people in the field of performing arts for his creative and experimental works in the field of music.

In 2018, Maestro Productions organised the Ilayaraja’s 75 years celebration live concert at the Star Theatre, which had a sold-out capacity of 5100. The concert entourage consisted of a total of 124 performing artistes, including singers, musicians, technicians and a 26-member troupe from the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.
